How to configure active directory in windows 7? -

i installed remote server administrative tools (rsat) on windows 7, , turned features on mentioned in installation guide. administrative tools have been installed , listed in all programs list of start menu.

i want set local network. want create users/passwords, , give them access shared drives permissions, etc.

my questions is:

how configure active directory in windows 7 first time?

rsat remotely manage active directory environment. it's not creating ad environment.

if want create ad environment, need windows server (2003/2008/2012) , install 'active directory domain services' or 'active directory lightweight directory services' role. there instructions online on how that.
